NEW! Teamspeak V3 instructions as at 13th July 2010.

The Teamspeak server is moving to a new Version 3 server, the new version 3 server is available now. The version 2 server will still be available until approx 20th July 2010. Version 3 has a number of enhancements over version 2 including:

  • new and improved codecs
  • lower latency
  • automatic mic adjustment
  • ambient noise filtering
  • text chat

To use the new server please follow the instructions below:

Download the Version 3 Teamspeak client choosing the appropriate version for your operating system. It will coexist with the version 2 client on the same PC so you can continue to use version 2 client for other Teamspeak servers.

Note: You cannot use the old version 2 client to connect to a version 3 server.

Run the client and enter the setup configuration information including your Nick and microphone settings.

Then connect to the new Teamspeak server, noting that at the moment no server password is necessary. The servername TS3.THOMMOS.COM has been created so you don't have to use an IP address. It is different from the old TS.THOMMOS.COM address.

You should then see the channel list and be able to navigate to a channel.

If you have been given a token (text string) to elevate your rights by an administrator, once logged in to the server from the Permissions menu in Teamspeak v3 client choose Use Priviledge Key and paste in your key. The keys are one use only. If it does not work you will have to be issued with another key.
