VAAF Steam Group

With the release of ArmA2 as a download on steam long before its release in local stores, several VAAF members opted for a download purchase through steam. With this comes the availability of the steam interface so that the location of members can be determined and they can be contacted whilst ingame. To make this easier Big Tonka created a [VAAF steam group]. The group is invite only, so you'll have to sim with us before being invited to join it.

Advantages

Anyone can see our gaming status by just checking the page. For this to work, anyone joining the group should register their sims with steam and have steam running whilst playing. In native steam games at least, people will be able to contact us even while we're ingame. With IRC you won't have anyone to talk to if we're ingame (although you could always try TeamSpeak).

Obtaining a steam account

Anyone can sign up for a steam account (you don't necessarily need a steam-powered game). Just go to the [Steam login page] and sign up for a free account. You'd only need to do this if you either want to join the VAAF steam group or contact us while we're ingame. To use the contact feature you'll also need to be running Steam at the time as I don't believe that functions works from just a web browser (probably to prevent spamming).
